Facilitator/ Mentor/ Lecturer
I have a 22 years teaching and facilitating practice in primary, secondary and adult education, up to degree level. I trained in acting at the Schülerclub at Schauspielhaus Frankfurt, have an MA in English/ Drama and American Studies (with honours) from the Goethe University Frankfurt/M., Germany, which I earned writing my thesis "Variations of the self - Identity in the poems of the Northern Irish poet Medbh McGuckian”, and a professional development degree in physical theatre from Hope Street Ltd. and John Moores University, Liverpool, both awarded while still living under the name Sabine Hauschild.
I teach at drama schools and universities and facilitate open spaces and workshops, especially for female identifying people and mothers, and people with anxiety and other mental health challenges. I love working with people interested in deep diving into integrated arts processes to guide self inquiry, change perspectives and aim for transformation, both for personal development and for artistic exploration, health and wellbeing.
My current research combines contact improvisation and Butoh. In the UK I hold a Butoh and CI LAB. Currently I teach Butoh inspired CI in Tokyo about once a month.
Occasionally I hold open house 'making sessions' for artists and non artists of all walks of life in our kitchen (called "Kitchen Sink Artist Drop In") and death cafes, both online and in person.
I think of myself as a Mensch and Mother, and approach all teaching and facilitation from a 'non hierarchical’, collaborative ‘meeting of humans’ point of view, which allows us to become and be companions and fellow travellers/ learners/ story sharers and friends.
